🕯 Candle Care Tips 🕯
A little extra care goes a long way to help your candle burn beautifully, smell amazing, and last longer. Here’s how to get the best out of every burn:
✨ Trim the Wick Before Each Burn
Keeping your wick around 1/4 inch helps the candle burn evenly, prevents large flickering flames, and cuts down on soot. Use a wick trimmer, scissors, or your fingers if the wick is soft.
✨ Let the Wax Pool Fully
To avoid tunneling (where wax builds up along the edges), allow the candle to burn long enough that the entire top layer of wax melts—usually about 2 hours the first time you light it.
✨ Don’t Overdo It
As tempting as it is to keep the cozy glow going, try to limit each burn to around 4 hours. This prevents overheating and keeps your scent strong and clean.
✨ Keep Away from Drafts
Drafts can make the flame dance around, which leads to uneven burning and extra soot. Place your candle somewhere shielded from fans, vents, or open windows.
✨ Store Your Candle Thoughtfully
To help preserve the fragrance and color, keep candles in a cool, dry spot, away from direct sunlight. If your candle has a lid, keep it covered when not in use to protect it from dust.
✨ Always Practice Candle Safety
Never leave a burning candle unattended, and make sure it’s fully extinguished before you leave the room or go to sleep.
✨ Extinguish Carefully
Snuff out the flame gently with a candle snuffer, or blow it out softly to avoid splattering hot wax and excess smoke.
With these simple steps, you’ll enjoy a cleaner burn, a longer-lasting candle, and all the cozy, beautiful fragrance it was made to bring into your space.
